About Me

Hi, I’m Jen, and welcome to The Enchanted Path.

This blog was born during a season of my life I never expected.

After losing my stepdad, Kevin, I found myself in what I think of as my winter of healing—a time of grieving, reflecting, and slowly discovering that loss has a way of changing not only how you see the world, but also how you choose to move through it.

Grief taught me that life is too short not to live in alignment with the values that matter most. As I healed, I found myself asking a simple question:

How can I lessen suffering where I can and live a life that feels true to who I am?

For me, that journey led to a plant-based lifestyle.

It wasn’t about chasing the perfect diet or becoming someone different. It was about making choices that better aligned with my values while still embracing the things I love most—being the cook of our household, experimenting in the kitchen, and gathering around the table with friends and family.

The truth is, I’m usually the only vegan at the table.

My husband, family, and many of my friends aren’t vegan, and I quickly realized I wasn’t alone in wondering where everyone could enjoy a meal together. That’s why you’ll find honest restaurant reviews from real mixed tables, along with approachable plant-based recipes that I actually make at home. Some are quick weeknight dinners, some are comfort foods, and others are recipes I’ve tweaked (sometimes more than once!) until they became favorites.

My goal isn’t perfection, and this blog isn’t about telling anyone what they should eat.

It’s about sharing delicious food, making compassionate choices where I can, and showing that eating differently doesn’t have to mean eating separately.

Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, plant-curious, or simply trying to add more plant-based meals to your week, I hope you’ll find something here that inspires you.

When I’m not cooking or exploring new restaurants, you’ll usually find me hiking with dogs, tending my garden, spending time with my ducks and chickens, or dreaming about the animal sanctuary I hope to build one day.
